Every material brings its own questions. We start by understanding its composition and intended application, then map the research, testing, and development steps needed to move it forward.
Citrus peel is one example. Drawing on chemistry and traditional knowledge, we developed extraction technology to recover useful components from material left over from food processing. That experience informs our approach to other complex natural materials and the opportunities they may hold.

2026 New product licence
Tait Laboratories received a Canadian natural health product licence for MS+ Mandarin Skin Plus® with NAG, combining mandarin-peel extract and N-acetylglucosamine. NPN 80147117 was issued on January 27, 2026.
2022 Recognition in Japan
Tait Labs received a Food & Beverage award at Plug and Play Japan’s Summer/Fall summit in Tokyo.
2021 US patent granted
Citrus-peel extraction technology received US patent 11,141,449.

Founded by Dr. Andrew Tait in 2011, Tait Labs brings together in-house laboratory capabilities and external resources to support research and product development. Experience developing our own ingredients and products informs the work we undertake with clients and collaborators.
Andrew is also an Affiliate Associate Professor at Concordia University, appointed June 1, 2025. He is seen here visiting the mandarin grove at Ann’s Orchard, Lincoln, CA.
